Measure your space. Start with a clear plan.
Gather measurements, a simple floor plan and photographs of the space. This guide helps you prepare a clearer brief for wood and upholstered furniture.
Width × height × depth
Use centimetres in every field. State the dimension order clearly, including when sharing measurements in an image or file.
- Width: measure from side to side while facing the piece.
- Height: measure from the floor to the highest point of the piece.
- Depth: measure from front to back, and note any projection beyond the main body.
- For furniture inside a recess, measure width, height and depth at several points and record the smallest reading. Note skirting boards and projections.
- Record the space needed to open doors and drawers, and allow for movement and access in your plan. Do not approve production dimensions from the preview alone.
Room length × width × height
- Record the room’s length, width and height in centimetres. Sketch a simple floor plan and label each wall so measurements have a clear reference.
- Record each door’s width, height and position from the nearest corner, its opening direction and the area it occupies when open.
- Record window width, height and height above the floor, including curtain positions and surrounding projections.
- Mark columns, projections, air-conditioning units and sockets. Identify circulation routes and areas that need to remain clear.
- Check the length and width of each piece or sofa configuration, then explore its position and orientation. Overlap and boundary warnings help with planning but do not replace a check of the actual space.
Also record entrances and passageways along the route into the room, and share any access constraints before confirming the specification.
Plan upholstered furnitureUse the preview to explore proportions and layout
The preview is an illustrative representation of a piece or room, not an approved production drawing. Construction details, fabric texture and wood grain may differ from the on-screen view. Design concepts are illustrations for inspiration, not photographs of completed customer projects.
On-screen colour choices are not physical samples. Record your preferred material, colour and finish, and confirm availability and suitability with the furniture specification before approval.
Bring your details together in a quote request
Share the furniture type, dimensions, preferred materials and how you use the space. Include a floor plan or reference image if available, and note any room constraints or requirements outside the tool’s options.
